A new year, a chance for a fresh start! Break your patterns of thinking, gain a new perspective on life and grasp the chance for change. Looking at the world from a different angle can be extremely helpful in gaining a better understanding and getting the full picture. Little things like updating your morning routine, exploring a new route to work or taking a break from the apps you use on your smart phone on a daily basis, can help you to step outside the box and bring forward real change in your life.
This series of olfactive still lifes beautifully illustrates this wisdom. London photographer duo Luca Nocera and Lara Ferri took a fresh look at a range of handpicked perfume flacons from an entirely new angle. Details that can easily be overlooked become eminent and the bottles themselves are shifted towards the monumental through the camera’s unusual point of view. A clever arrangement of carefully selected props and the transparent qualities of glass support this striking effect.
Choose a new perspective of life! Dare to leave the well-trodden paths. Why not try out a new perfume or create a pool of favourite scents you can use on heavy rotation? After all, sense of smell is directly linked to your limbic system, hence perfume has the power to overwrite your old patterns of feeling and thinking. Enjoy!
