Summer brings with it dazzling sunshine, beach fun, and clear skies. But it also entails summer rains, starry nights, and a changed perception of time. Summer is all of these things, but it’s also a season when memories are formed and our senses are at their peak. And don’t the majority of our recollections involve a scent?
Just picture the spot in your grandmother’s garden where the scent of roses and ripe pears combines, the peculiar concoction of sea salt and odiferous notes on a beach walk, or the distinctive scent of sun lotion that has been out of production for a long time.
In his most recent, exclusive still life series for Scentury, photographer Klas Forster caught all the moods of a lengthy summer. His editorial may draw inspiration from one of our favourite literary quotes from The Summer I Turned Pretty:
